The Strong Support I Needed for My Pivot to Computational Bio, Bioinformatics & AI

My journey back to science has been a long and difficult one. I graduated with a Bachelor's in Biotechnology, but I immediately faced a major hurdle: a neurodegenerative illness that led to a career gap of over a decade. The thought of re-entering the workforce felt impossible.

On top of that, I knew a traditional biotech career was never the right fit. Even back in college, my practical lab skills and knowledge were not good, and I couldn't see a future for myself at the bench. My passion was always more for the "why" and "how" behind the data.

This long break gave me clarity. I decided to pivot my career completely toward Computational Biology, focusing on AI/ML and Data Science. But the problem was immense: how could I possibly bridge a 10+ year gap and learn an entirely new, highly technical field?
