Placement Assistance Policy

BioTecNika EdTech Division

Placement Assistance Policy

Effective Date: 1st April 2022

Jurisdiction: Bangalore, Karnataka, India (All legal matters arising from this policy are subject to this jurisdiction)

Coverage: If you do not agree to the terms and conditions stated in this document, you cannot participate in BioTecNika's Placement Assistance program.

1.  Scope, Purpose & Process

This Placement Assistance Policy (“Policy”) outlines the terms under which BioTecNika’s EdTech Division (“BioTecNika”) will provide placement assistance to students who enroll in and successfully complete our training programs (wherever Job assistance is explicitly mentioned). The purpose of this Policy is to define the scope of placement support we offer and to set clear expectations for students. This Policy applies to all students of BioTecNika’s training programs who opt for placement assistance. By opting for placement assistance and signing this Policy, the student acknowledges and agrees to the terms herein.

The Process:

  • Candidate must join BioTecNika Placement Group on WhatsApp & BioTecNika Connect Platform, where daily job updates will be posted.

  • It is the candidate's responsibility to upload their CV using the provided link. BioTecNika will not be responsible for following up individually with each enrolled candidate. Candidates who fail to do so cannot later raise concerns about not receiving job assistance.

  • All Shortlisted candidates will be notified in this WhatsApp group and Biotecnika Connect Platform, and/or via email / Phone call to the selected candidates.

  • Our Placement Team will onboard New Companies daily/weekly and inform candidates whenever the companies have a Job opening.

  • Candidates will apply through the link provided and then the shortlisted candidates will be forwarded to the recruiting company.

  • The Validity of your Placement Assistance is 1 Year from the date of enrollment into our Academic programs.

  • Upon Successful Selection into the Company, Our Placement team will seek your video Testimonials, which will be showcased on your relevant social media handles for advertisement purposes only.

  • Providing a video testimonial is a must, and denying it can lead to cancellation of your future placement assistance and support opportunities.

2.  Nature of Placement Assistance (No Guaranteed Employment)

BioTecNika provides placement assistance, not placement guarantees. This means we will support and guide you in your job search, but we do not and cannot guarantee that you will secure a job. Participation in our programs or placement assistance services does not guarantee job placement or employment . While BioTecNika will make every reasonable effort to help you connect with potential employers, BioTecNika cannot in any way assure or guarantee employment upon program completion  . Securing a job is contingent on many factors outside our control, including each candidate’s individual effort and performance, the hiring company’s requirements, market conditions, and other external factors.

  • No Influence on Hiring Decisions: BioTecNika’s role is limited to recommending or forwarding student profiles to employers. We do not influence the hiring or selection decisions made by any third-party companies. The final hiring decision rests solely with the employer, and BioTecNika has no say or control in that process. Under no circumstances should any candidate pressure or demand BioTecNika to secure them a job – the outcome is beyond our control and entirely at the discretion of the hiring company.

  • Placement Assistance vs. Employment Agency: BioTecNika is an education and training provider, not an employment agency. We assist by leveraging our industry connections to help students, but we are not responsible for procuring jobs for students. Every student is ultimately responsible for their own job search and performance during recruitment processes.

3.  Partner Companies and Eligible Industries

BioTecNika maintains partnerships and tie-ups with various companies, primarily in the Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical sectors, as well as related life-sciences industries. Our placement assistance is focused on opportunities in these fields, aligning with the training programs we offer. We will actively seek relevant job openings from our network of partner Biotech & Pharma companies and other allied industries to share with our trained students.

  • Training-Aligned Job Referrals: We only share or forward student profiles/CVs to companies that have agreed to consider BioTecNika’s students for relevant job openings. All such referrals will be for positions (job descriptions, “JD”) relevant to the training the student has undergone. For example, if you trained in a biotech research course, we will forward your CV to biotech or pharma companies seeking candidates in that domain (and not to unrelated sectors).

  • Based on Company Requirements: For each job opening, BioTecNika will forward a limited number of CVs that best match the job requirements. We will not forward every student’s CV for every opening. Typically, we will send only the most relevant 10–50 candidate profiles (as requested or required by the hiring company) for a given position. This ensures that companies receive a curated list of qualified candidates, and students are presented for roles that closely fit their skills and training. Placement opportunities are shared based on demand and requirements from our industry partners.

  • No Distribution to Unrelated Jobs: We will not spam or send student CVs indiscriminately to employers. CVs will be sent only for matching job roles and to companies in our network. Our team matches student qualifications and interests with job descriptions before forwarding any profiles.

4.  Candidate Eligibility and Selection Criteria for Referrals

Placement assistance is offered exclusively to students who have completed our training programs in good standing. However, within the pool of eligible students, BioTecNika will apply certain merit- based criteria to decide which student profiles to refer for specific opportunities:

  • Merit-Based Shortlisting: Placement referrals are merit-based. Candidates who have demonstrated strong performance in their coursework or training program will receive priority for job referrals . This includes evaluation of academic performance during training, practical project work, assessment scores, and overall engagement in the program.

  • Active Participation: Students who were active and engaged during the training (attending sessions regularly, completing assignments, participating in discussions, etc.) are more likely to be recommended to employers. Instructors and program coordinators may provide input on student participation. BioTecNika’s faculty may periodically share feedback or a list of the most active and diligent candidates, and such students will be prioritized when forwarding CVs to companies.

  • Relevance to Job Requirements: Even among high-performing students, relevance to the job opening is crucial. Only those candidates whose skills, qualifications, and interests closely align with a given job description will have their CV forwarded for that opening. This means a student might be top of the class in one specialization, but will only be referred to companies looking for that specialization.

  • Limit on Referrals per Opening: As noted, if a company requests a certain number of candidate profiles (say 10, 20, or 50) for an opening, BioTecNika will select that number of the best-suited candidates. Not being forwarded for a particular job opening does not imply a negative assessment of the student; it may simply mean that other candidates were a closer fit for that specific role.

  • Ongoing Eligibility: Students must also meet any specific criteria set by employers (for example, educational qualifications, location preferences, etc.). BioTecNika will inform students of any such criteria when sharing job opportunities. Students are expected to keep their CVs updated and provide accurate information about their qualifications and experience. Any misrepresentation can lead to removal from our referral list. If a particular company does not shortlist a student's CV, it will remain eligible and may be forwarded to other suitable companies for placement opportunities.

5.  Placement Assistance Services Provided

As part of our placement assistance program, BioTecNika offers support services at no extra cost to help improve students’ employability. These services are provided to all students availing placement assistance:

  • Resume/CV Building: We help students prepare and polish their resumes or CVs to meet industry standards. Guidance is provided on how to highlight relevant skills, training, and project work. Our team may conduct resume workshops or one-on-one review sessions.

  • Interview Preparation: BioTecNika conducts mock interviews and interview coaching sessions. These mock interviews simulate real job interviews (both technical and HR rounds) to give students practice and feedback. We also provide tips on handling common interview questions and improving communication skills.

  • Soft Skills Training: We arrange training sessions focused on soft skills development – such as communication, teamwork, professional etiquette, and presentation skills. Strong soft skills often complement technical knowledge in securing jobs.

  • Career Counseling: Students can seek guidance on career paths, industry trends, and job search strategies. Our mentors or counselors can advise on how to approach different companies, how to apply for roles effectively, and how to improve areas of weakness.

  • Job Alerts and Notifications: BioTecNika will regularly share information about relevant job openings with students, through official channels like email updates or a placement portal. It is the student’s responsibility to respond and apply in a timely manner as advised . We will facilitate the application process wherever possible (for example, by sending your CV through our contacts), but students should also proactively follow up on leads.

These services are provided as part of our commitment to student success, without any additional fees (the training fee you have paid covers training and placement support; there is no separate placement fee). All placement assistance services are offered in good faith to improve your chances, but again, they do not guarantee a job offer.

6.  Letters of Recommendation (For Top Performers)

BioTecNika values excellence and initiative. As an additional benefit under this Policy, letters of recommendation may be provided to certain students, subject to the following conditions:

  • Criteria for Recommendation Letters: Typically, only the best performers in our programs will be considered for a letter of recommendation. This could include students who have:

    • Achieved consistently high scores or grades in the training program.

    • Demonstrated exceptional skill or knowledge in their field.

    • Undertaken significant projects or research work as part of the program and successfully completed them within given timelines.

    • Shown exemplary attitude, leadership, or teamwork during the course.

  • Faculty/Management Discretion: Instructors and program leaders will identify outstanding candidates based on performance data and direct observation. BioTecNika reserves the right to decide who, if anyone, receives a recommendation letter. Not all students will receive a recommendation letter; it is a privilege earned by exceptional performance and is not guaranteed to every participant.

  • Purpose of the Letter: A letter of recommendation, if given, will highlight the student’s strengths, skills, and achievements during the program. It can serve as a supplement to the student’s job applications. However, it is not a guarantee of a job, and employers may independently verify the student’s capabilities.

  • No Influence on Hiring: Even when we provide a recommendation letter, its impact on any hiring decision is solely at the employer’s discretion. The letter is intended to support the student’s profile, but employers will still conduct their own evaluation. BioTecNika does not contact employers to “push” for hiring a recommended student beyond forwarding the letter; the standard no-influence rule applies here as well.

7.  Student Responsibilities and Code of Conduct

Students availing placement assistance have certain responsibilities to ensure the process works smoothly and fairly for all:

  • Honest Communication: Students must provide truthful and accurate information in their CVs, application forms, and any interviews. Any instance of false information, plagiarism in resumes, or misleading claims can lead to immediate disqualification from placement assistance.

  • Professional Behavior: When attending interviews or interacting with any company through BioTecNika’s placement program, students are expected to behave professionally and respectfully. They are representatives of BioTecNika in those interactions, and any misconduct can result in removal from our placement support.

  • Timely Response: If a student is shortlisted or invited for an interview, they should respond promptly and make necessary arrangements to attend. Failing to show up for scheduled interviews or tests arranged through our referral may lead to being dropped from future opportunities.

  • If any enrolled student chooses not to take up a job opportunity, they are not permitted to share or transfer the job information to any non-enrolled individual. Doing so will be considered a breach of policy and may lead to cessation of the placement services with immediate effect.

  • Feedback and Updates: Students should keep BioTecNika’s placement team informed about their job search progress, especially if they secure a job or if they face challenges. If you receive an offer (whether through our referral or on your own), kindly inform us as it helps in our records and possibly in stopping further referrals for you if you no longer need them.

  • No Demands for Guaranteed Placement: Students must acknowledge that BioTecNika is providing a facilitative service. Any form of coercion, undue pressure, or entitlement demanding a job placement from our staff is unacceptable. We understand job searches can be stressful, but polite communication and understanding of this Policy are expected at all times.

  • All placement-related communication must be directed exclusively to the designated placement coordinator or placement team. Students are strictly advised not to contact course mentor/ faculty member regarding placements, including via social media or personal channels.

  • No Job placement does not imply that a refund will be provided. Job Assistance is a complimentary service provided by BioTecNika and does not imply that a refund will be issued if a candidate cannot be placed.

  • All the communication regarding the job placement will be done strictly via "Biotecnika Connect Jobs Group".

  • Students can upload their CVs through this link, which will be picked up by our placement team.

8.  Disclaimer of Placement Guarantee

To reiterate and make it abundantly clear: BioTecNika does not guarantee employment to any student as a result of enrolling in our courses or availing our placement assistance. We assist in the placement process (such as by forwarding CVs and providing guidance), but we do not promise or assure any job offer.

All employment offers are subject to the hiring companies’ own selection processes and criteria, over which we have no control or influence  . BioTecNika will not be responsible if a student does not receive any job offers or does not get selected by any company. By agreeing to this Policy, the student expressly acknowledges that they have no expectation of guaranteed employment from BioTecNika, and that they are availing the placement support with full understanding of this important limitation.

9.  Limitation of Liability

BioTecNika will undertake placement assistance with due diligence and good faith. However, in the event that a student is not placed or faces any other outcome from the placement process, BioTecNika’s liability is strictly limited. By accepting this Policy:

  • The student agrees that BioTecNika shall not be liable for any loss of opportunity, loss of income, or any indirect/consequential damages arising from the placement assistance services or lack of job offers. BioTecNika is providing a service to recommend and assist, and does not guarantee results.

  •  In any case, to the maximum extent permitted by law, BioTecNika’s total liability for any claims arising out of or related to this Policy or the placement assistance shall not exceed the total fees paid by the student for the training program. If the student did not pay fees (or a nominal fee) for the program, then BioTecNika’s liability is capped at a token amount (for example, INR 1,000) as liquidated damages. This cap includes any claim of damages, whether in contract, tort, or otherwise.

  •  BioTecNika will also not be liable for any actions of third-party companies, such as a company’s failure to respond to an application, cancellation of a job opening, changes in job role, or any form of discrimination or unfair treatment a student might encounter in an external hiring process. However, we encourage students to report any negative experiences with our partner companies, so we can review our association with them.

10.  Indemnification

Students agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless BioTecNika, its affiliates, officers, employees, and partners from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising out of or in connection with: (a) any misrepresentation or breach by the student of the terms of this Placement Assistance Policy; (b) the student’s negligence, misconduct or failure to comply with instructions during the placement process; or (c) any dispute or legal action initiated by a third party (including any company or recruiter) as a result of the student’s actions or omissions during a placement opportunity.

In simpler terms, this means that if BioTecNika faces any legal or financial consequences because of something the student did (or failed to do) in the context of placement assistance (for example, providing false credentials to an employer, or violating this Policy’s terms), the student will be responsible for those costs and will protect BioTecNika from that liability. This clause does not apply to the extent any claim arises due to BioTecNika’s own gross negligence or willful misconduct.

11.  Governing Law and Jurisdiction

This Policy and any placement assistance services provided by BioTecNika shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. All disputes or legal proceedings arising out of or relating to this Policy or the placement assistance shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. By agreeing to this Policy, the student consents to the jurisdiction of these courts for any such disputes.

12.  Agreement and Acknowledgement

Before availing placement assistance, students are required to acknowledge and accept this Placement Assistance Policy. This acknowledgement may be done via a digital signature or acceptance click-through as provided by BioTecNika’s platform.

By signing or otherwise acknowledging this Policy:

  • You confirm that you have read and understood all the terms and conditions outlined above.

  • You agree to abide by this Placement Assistance Policy in its entirety.

  • You recognize that this Policy is binding and that you have had the opportunity to seek clarification on any points you did not understand.

  • You accept that placement assistance is not a job guarantee, and you will not hold BioTecNika liable for your employment status after the training.

If you do not agree with any part of this Policy, you should decline to sign/accept it. However, in that case, you will not be eligible for BioTecNika’s placement assistance services.
