What is covered in CBI?

The CRISPR Bioinformatics Internship curriculum covers a wide range of topics related to CRISPR genome editing and bioinformatics. The curriculum is divided into four units, each designed to give students a comprehensive understanding of the technology and its applications.

MODULE 1 provides an overview of CRISPR technology, including its scope and opportunities in genome editing technology in India and abroad. Students will learn the basics of the CRISPR system and related terminology, as well as the ethical responsibilities and limitations of CRISPR technology.

MODULE 2 delves deeper into the biology of CRISPR/Cas systems and their functions. Students will learn about the classification of CRISPR/Cas systems and how they are used in molecular diagnostics. The unit also covers PCR and real-time PCR platforms for CRISPR validation and interpretation, as well as alternatives such as ELISA and fluorimetry.

MODULE 3 focuses on the bioinformatics tools used in CRISPR technology. Students will learn about tools such as Primer V3, BE-Designer, CRISPR direct, CRISPR Design tool, and CRISPR-P 2.0. They will also learn about CRISPR target and finder, E-CRISP, CRISPR optimal target finder, CHOP-CHOP, CRISPy Web, Cas Designer, CRISPR scan, CRISPR Library Designer, IDT Design custom gRNA, Synthego CRISPR guide design, CRISPR-Focus, and CRISPR MultiTargeter.

MODULE 4 covers the wet lab experimental design with protocols for CRISPR. Students will learn about the biochemical concentrations and calculations involved in CRISPR experiments. They will also explore case studies, such as CRISPR/Cas-based diagnosis of Ehrlichia canis infection in dogs, and the implications of CRISPR in microbial, plant, animal, and human models for detection, diagnosis, and therapy.

The Internship will combine live interactive sessions, recorded self-learning classes, and assignments. However, our expert will be available to guide you throughout the course. 

What If I miss a session?

The recording of the sessions will be available for five days post-completion of the internship. So you can go back and refer to the recordings, but make sure you do not miss the live sessions and take maximum benefit from them. 

Will I need to install any software?

The course does not require any additional software. However, if any requirement arises, the instructor will intimate it before the sessions. 

How to get the hard copy certificate?

To avail, of the hard copy certificate, the candidate should complete the assignments. Upon submission of the same, a hard copy certificate will be sent to your address.
